Seminar on openBIM and openGIS in Qianhai

Co-organized by buildingSMART China, buildingSMART Hong Kong, China, and HKABAEIMA, the Seminar on openBIM and openGIS was held on 24 September 2024 at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub.

Industry leaders and government officials from Hong Kong and China shared their insights and experiences with participants in the morning session. In the afternoon session, there were three topics on openBIM and openGIS for discussion.

A presentation ceremony was also held during the event. A.C.I.D. is honored to be granted the right to use the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub as our CCBM (CIC-Certified BIM Manager) course and CCBC (CIC-Certified BIM Coordinator) course teaching venue in the Greater Bay Area. Mr. David Fung represented our company at the ceremony.

CIC BIMCAS Appreciation Lunch

On 24 January 2024, CIC has organized an appreciation lunch for the assessment panels of the CIC BIM Certification and Accreditation Schemes (BIMCAS) as a token of thanks on their efforts. The event was held at ClubONE Telford, Kowloon Bay. Mr David Fung, Managing Director of A.C.I.D. was invited and joined. 

Hong Kong Construction Common Data Environment Award 2023 Launching Ceremony

To recognise outstanding projects and organisations that best utilise Common Data Environment (CDE) to improve project management, collaboration, productivity, sustainability; and to share the awardees’ experiences on utilising CDE for digital collaboration with the industry, Development Bureau and Construction Industry Council continues to co-organise Hong Kong Construction Common Data Environment Award.  Launching ceremony of the event has been held on 16 May 2023 at CIC-Zero Carbon Park to announce the details. 

HKABAEIMA 2nd Anniversary OpenData towards a Smart City

To celebrate its 2nd anniversary, The Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset & Environment Information Management Associations (HKABAEIMA) organized a special event titled “OpenData towards a Smart City” on 23 November at CIC’s Zero Carbon Park.

This event starts with a keynote address delivered by Ms Bernadette LINN, JP (Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning & Lands), followed by the signing of MOU between HKABAEIMA and Smart City Consortium and presentation of certificates of buildingSMART Professional Certification – Foundation Programme. There are also sharings on BIM Horizontal Harmonization for BIM/GIS Integration and buildingSMART Experience.

Mr David Fung, Managing Director of A.C.I.D., presented on buildingSMART Experience titled “Sharing of International experience from Virtual Summit” during the event.

National BIM Conference in Chengdu

Organized by Sichuan Provincial Construction Science &  Technology Association and Sichuan Institute of Building Research, the National Internet + BIM Technology Forum and Platform Conference was held last Friday at JW Marriot Hotel, Chengdu.  Speakers of the conference were specialists from BIM, internet and big data sectors.  Mr David Fung, Managing Director of A.C.I.D., discussed on the topic: How to Extract “I” from BIM ?

UIA 2017 Seoul World Architects Congress

UIA 2017 Seoul World Architects Congress was held on September 3-10, 2017 at COEX & DDP, Seoul, Korea.  Having a booth themed “So HK”, HKIA aimed at promoting the association and its members’ works by panel and video display.  As a registered practice of HKIA, A.C.I.D.  introduced the firm and its projects in the video display to the visitors.

First HKIBIM Certified Expert Examination

The first BIM Certified Expert Level I Examination accredited by HKIBIM was successfully held on 26 Sept 2015 at IVE BIM Centre. Two categories including CEI Basic (ArchiCAD) and CEI Basic (Revit) are available.

First HKIBIM Board Meeting in 2015

The first HKIBIM Board meeting was held on 22 April, 2015 at the A.C.I.D. BIM Studio.

Our Managing Director, being the current HKIBIM Chairman, held the meeting aimed at promoting BIM technology to the industry.

Our Managing Director Mr. David Fung awarded CIC BIMer of the Year

Aiming to recognize the construction practitioners who have spearheaded an effort in the harnessing of BIM technology and processes to further design, construction and project excellence, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) initiates an industry-wide Building Information Modelling (BIM) Excellence Awards.

Under the category of BIMer of the Year, the nominee requirements include: show leadership in BIM implementation to strive for excellence for the industry; demonstrate effective change management in adopting the evolutionary shift of BIM; encourage continuous innovative development of construction in relation to BIM as well as at the capacity of person.

After a rigorous selection process, our Managing Director Mr. David Fung has been chosen to receive the BIMer of the Year Award. The Award Presentation Ceremony will be held on 11 March, 2015 in Sky100 at International Commerce Centre.

AIAB Annual Conference 2014

The AIAB Annual Conference was held on 9^th December 2014 at Hong Kong Design Institute. Our Managing Director Mr. David Fung was invited to be one of the speakers to share the practical experiences on using BIM in our company’s project workflow. The topic he presented was “From Reality to Virtuality and Back to Reality”.
